Housing Focused Shelter Worker

Job Summary
Provide housing-focused shelter support and front-line case management for shelter participants, including crisis intervention, de-escalation, and facilitating connections to internal and external resources to achieve sustainable housing. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment, conducting housing-focused intake, documenting interactions in CCMS/FDARP, collaborating with team and volunteers, and guiding participants toward short- and long-term housing goals through person-centered, trauma-informed approaches. Requires experience with marginalized populations, strong communication, privacy adherence, and the ability to operate within health and safety policies; travel between shelter locations as needed and engagement in staff trainings and meetings.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of experience working with marginalized populations
- Diploma and/or certificate in Human Services, Social Work, or a relevant field (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability in case management and advocacy (asset)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Willingness to adhere to FOIPPA and privacy standards
- Experience with intake and data collection in relevant systems
- Ability to work in a front-line, fast-paced shelter environment
- Cultural sensitivity and knowledge of Indigenous communities an asset
