Job Summary
Housing & Entitlement Specialist provides focused, individualized support to help youth in The Bronx-based Children’s Community Residences secure permanent housing, obtain critical entitlements, and access public benefits upon discharge. Responsibilities include completing housing applications (HRA) for youth at age 18+, assisting with vital documents, guiding housing placement and stability, helping youth apply for and obtain public benefits and legal documents, accompanying youth to appointments, coordinating with treatment teams, developing strength-based goals, and traveling within boroughs for fieldwork. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, valid driver’s license, proficiency with Office software, and ability to travel; Spanish bilingual proficiency preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or a related field required
- Valid driver’s license and ability to transport youth in agency vehicles required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, required
- Ability to travel between program locations, including CR and SILP sites
- Spanish bilingual proficiency preferred
