Job Summary
Housing Engagement Worker to support vulnerable homeless clients in Norwich. Responsibilities include processing referrals, assessing clients' needs, creating and implementing personalised support plans, teaching life skills (cooking, budgeting, hygiene, home maintenance), organizing educational and vocational workshops, assisting with move-on and tenancy agreements, managing finances and income recovery, handling crises, and coordinating with local authorities and housing associations. Emphasis on safeguarding, needs and risk assessments, restorative practices, and promoting independent living. Strong communication, emotional resilience, and ability to work as part of a rota with core hours 8:00–19:00; full DBS checks etc. The role focuses on compassionate client support, community building, and tenancy readiness within the YMCA Norfolk housing services.
