Job Summary

Housing Coordinator (Brooklyn, NY) supports the permanent housing search for families in Win’s shelter, coordinating housing services, broker/landlord relationships, and housing events/workshops. Responsibilities include guiding families through housing applications, maintaining a roster of brokers/landlords, coordinating housing fairs and workshops, arranging apartment viewings, escorting clients to appointments, tracking referrals, developing permanent housing strategies with Case Managers, advocating for eligible families to obtain Supportive Housing, maintaining case notes in CARES, and completing mandated reporting. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field, 2+ years in NYC housing, knowledge of housing subsidies, strong networking and communication skills, familiarity with entitlement systems, experience with Motivational Interviewing and Trauma-Informed Care, and the ability to work some evenings and weekends.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working within the New York City housing market
  • Must have knowledge of housing subsidies and supportive housing programs
  • Must have the ability to network and build strong collaborative relationships with brokers and landlords
  • Familiarity with entitlement systems and procedures
  • Must be familiar with strength-based case management, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care, family-centered case management, and boundary setting
  • Experience working with at-risk, homelessness families
  • Must be detailed oriented and demonstrate an ability to multitask and respond to deadlines
  • Must have excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Computer skills and knowledge of CARES a plus
  • Bilingual – English/Spanish a plus
