Job Summary
Process rental applications, conduct annual and interim recertifications, and calculate rent values for Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher participants in compliance with HUD regulations. Interview applicants and participants to verify income, household composition, and criminal history while maintaining accurate waiting lists and records. Manage voucher terminations, cancellations, and portability features, and respond promptly to inquiries from the public, landlords, and staff via phone, email, or writing. Prepare related correspondence, reports, and third-party verification forms to maximize voucher utilization and ensure program compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher programs
- Knowledge of HUD regulations
- Ability to determine program eligibility of applicants
- Ability to conduct annual and interim recertification of eligibility for Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher participants
- Ability to verify income, household composition, and criminal history
- Ability to calculate rent values and tenant payments
- Ability to process rental applications
- Ability to maintain accurate waiting lists/records for all vouchers/units
- Ability to process third party verification forms
- Ability to prepare related correspondence and reports
- Ability to respond promptly, courteously and professionally via phone, e-mail or in writing to participant, landlord, general public or staff inquiries
- Ability to conduct mandatory briefings for all eligible adults
- Ability to comply with Board-approved policies, policies prohibiting discrimination and harassment, executive communications, administrative procedures, and safety procedures
