Job Summary
Develop and maintain Housing Service Plans for residents to address transition needs and long-term housing stability. Coordinate care by assisting with scheduling appointments, arranging transportation, and accompanying residents to medical visits. Advocate for residents by collaborating with community providers, mediating conflicts, and intervening in crises while following harm reduction and trauma-informed care principles. Manage daily operations by maintaining accurate database records, incident reports, and financial documentation for resident purchases. Provide backup coverage for front desk duties and support community building through team meetings and events. Work up to a 40-hour week including weekday evenings, one weekend day, and select holiday mornings.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in a human service field
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with homeless and low-income individuals, including persons living with mental and physical illnesses, chemical dependency/addictions, disabilities, HIV/AIDS
- Valid Washington State Driver License and insurable driving record
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines in a professional manner
- Self-motivated and ability to creatively problem solve
- Ability to develop and sustain successful relationships with tenants, community agencies and resources
- Empathic patience with individuals who are heavily impacted by addiction, mental health concerns, and trauma
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under stressful conditions with people of varying socioeconomic backgrounds, sexual orientations, and ethnic diversity
- Ability to be flexible, supportive and to work cooperatively with co-workers as a member of a diverse team
- Demonstrated leadership and teaming experience resulting in accomplishing tasks and goals
- Proficient and experienced with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must be able to work efficiently and effectively with customized databases and technology, and conduct Internet research
- Demonstrated and strict attention to detail
- Ability and willingness to transport tenants to appointments on a regular basis or as needed
- Must be available for weekday evenings and one weekend day
- Must be willing to work select holiday mornings
