Job Summary
Walk assigned floors at shift start and end to remove newspapers, trays, trash, and linens while noting areas needing immediate cleaning. Polish floors, vacuum guest corridors, and maintain cleanliness of stairwells, service landings, and the Housekeeping Office. Assist housekeepers with bed boards, roll-aways, and delivering clean linen to assigned sections. Report maintenance issues to supervisors, handle Lost and Found items per standards, and collect keys and assignment sheets before closing out. Use daily checklists to complete projects including ash urns, glass tables, and ice machines while practicing safe work habits.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
- Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives
- Must be able to cross-train in other hotel-related areas
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
- Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds frequently to assist guests
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff, vendors and guests a normal in-person and phone conversation
- Ability to bend and twist, push and pull, stoop, and kneel
- Ascend and descend a ladder
- Will be required to work flexible scheduled shifts based on business needs
- Scheduling includes holidays, nights, and weekends depending on hotel events and functions
Desired Qualifications
- Previous in a Houseperson position preferred but not required
