Job Summary
Houseparents are a two-person, full-time role for married couples living on-campus at Milton Hershey School. They reside in student homes, supervise and mentor a group of approximately 8–13 students, manage household routines and schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and participate in developmental and recreational activities, and lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel. The position begins with a nine-on, three-off cycle as Flex Houseparents and can transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same student group. Compensation includes per-person salary with comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, paid time off, and housing/meal provisions. Requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license, the ability to lift 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty. Both spouses must complete individual applications and are expected to be legally married for at least two years.
Required Qualifications

- Two-spouse two-year marriage minimum
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
