Job Summary
Flex Houseparents (two-person, married couple) live in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School to provide daily supervision, mentorship, and care for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include managing household routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, conducting daily devotions and Chapel participation, budgeting and reporting, and following a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule before transitioning to a placed houseparent role with a fixed student home. Requires high school level education and a two-year married partnership with both spouses age 27 or older; valid driver’s license; ability to lift 50 lbs; and experience working or volunteering with youth.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-spouse, two-year marriage minimum
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Comfort leading devotions and Judeo-Christian Chapel services
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds
- Background check/clearance per school policy
- Both spouses must complete individual applications
