Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person couple) reside on campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, providing care, supervision, and mentorship to a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel attendance, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent role living and working with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person with total compensation for the couple, relocation assistance, paid training, comprehensive insurance, retirement options, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person, married-couple role
- Married for at least two years
- Both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- No alcohol on duty; campus is smoke-free and weapon-free
- Commitment to Judeo-Christian chapel services; ability to lead devotions
- Experience with youth through volunteering or employment
- Ability to relocate to Hershey, PA (on-campus housing)
- Budgeting and household management experience
- Ability to supervise and mentor students
- Comfort driving student vans
- Respect for school policies and student safety
- Flexible schedule including on-duty periods and transitions to Placed Houseparent
