Job Summary
Houseparents for Milton Hershey School (MHS) needed as a Full-time Flex Houseparent team (two married spouses) living in on-campus student homes to supervise, mentor, and support 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from a nine-on/three-off schedule toward a placed houseparent arrangement with ongoing stability in the same student home. Relocation to Hershey, PA is required; compensation planned at approximately $44,768 per person (about $168,000 total per couple including housing and benefits). Benefits include health/dental/vision, FSA/HSA, life and disability insurance, retirement savings, relocation assistance, paid time off, and paid training. This is a two-person, married-couple role with a strong emphasis on youth development, faith-based activities, and campus community living.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse requirement: both must apply separately
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience with youth
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No alcohol on duty
- Completion of individual employment applications by both spouses
