Job Summary
Houseparents (two-person, married couple) for on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA. Full-time Flex Houseparents provide daily supervision, mentorship, supervision of household routines, medication administration, transportation to activities, planning/developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and eventually transition to a placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; includes relocation to on-campus homes with housing and meals provided. Benefits include comprehensive insurance, retirement savings, paid time off, relocation assistance, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-spouse (two-person) role for married couples
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in devotions and Sunday Chapel services
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
