Job Summary
Houseparents for Milton Hershey School: a two-person, full-time flex role for married couples living on-campus in Hershey, PA, supervising and supporting groups of 8–13 students in a family-like home. Responsibilities include daily supervision, routines, medication administration, transportation to activities, planning and participating in developmental and recreational activities, leading devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from nine days on/three off to a placed houseparent in the same student home. Benefits include a salary per person (approximately $44,768), medical/dental/vision, retirement, relocation assistance, paid time off, and training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Certified to drive student home vans (ability to become certified)
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-spouse requirement for employment applications
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children in home
- Commitment to smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Comfort leading devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
