Job Summary
Houseparents for Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA are a two-person, full-time Flex Houseparent team living in on-campus student homes to supervise and mentor 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, scheduling, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and participating in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with a nine-on, three-off schedule and will transition to a Placed Houseparent role within the same student home. Relocation assistance is provided, along with comprehensive benefits. A high school diploma or GED is required, and both spouses must be age 27 or older and legally married for at least two years. A valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to drive student vans are required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-spouse, two-person role
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to live on-campus in student homes
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
