Job Summary
Houseparents (Full-time Flex Houseparents) reside in on-campus student homes to provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring, managing household routines, administering medications, driving to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, and leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance. Initially a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule with eventual transition to a dedicated placed houseparent assignment, with full benefits and relocation assistance. Compensation includes salary per person, with total compensation for couples around $180,000, plus housing and benefits. Requires a two-spouse, married-for-at-least-two-years arrangement and a strong commitment to student success.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Desire to relocate to Hershey, PA or live on-campus in student homes
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
