Job Summary
Married couples are hired as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes and supervise and support groups of 8–13 students, providing care, guidance, supervision, and development activities. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentoring, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and reporting. The schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with progression to a Placed Houseparent role living and working with the same student group in their own home. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-year married status for both spouses
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Valid US driver’s license
- Willingness to lead devotions and attend Chapel services
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No alcohol permitted while on duty
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Capacity to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to reside on-campus in student homes
- Two-person role for couples
- Relocation assistance provided
