Job Summary
Houseparents (two-person, married couple) live on campus at Milton Hershey School and provide care, supervision, mentorship, and structured daily routines for 8–13 students in an on-site home. The role starts as Full-time Flex Houseparents with a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule and evolving into a Placed Houseparent in the same student home. Responsibilities include supervising students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading devotions and Chapel visits, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and ensuring student wellness. Benefits include salary per person around $46,917 plus comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, paid training, and PTO. Qualified couples must be legally married for at least two years, both spouses 27 or older, and meet safety and housing requirements. For consideration, both spouses must complete individual applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse, two-year marriage required
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- No alcohol on duty
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Commitment to family-like environment
- Placed Houseparent and Flex Houseparent responsibilities
