Job Summary
Two-married-couple team to reside on-campus at Milton Hershey School, serving as Full-time Flex Houseparents for groups of ~8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting. The role starts with a nine-on / three-off schedule and eventual placement as a steady Houseparent in a single student home. Benefits include a salary of $46,917 per person (≈$180,000 total per couple with housing/benefits), relocation assistance, comprehensive insurance, retirement and paid time off. Requires high school diploma or GED, willingness to work in a smoke-free/weapon-free campus, valid driver’s license and ability to drive student vans, and couples must apply individually. Relocation assistance provided; on-campus housing and meals during duty are included.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
