Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person, married couples) to reside on-campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA. Provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students in on-campus homes. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from initial home assignments to a placed houseparent role with a consistent student group. Schedule consists of nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off. Benefits include salary per person, relocation assistance, healthcare options, retirement plans, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Chapel (proselytizing prohibited)
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Pet restrictions: fish and one dog of approved breeds
