Job Summary
Houseparents at Milton Hershey School reside on campus in on-site student homes to provide daily supervision, mentorship, and a structured family-like environment for 8–13 students. The role includes administering medications, managing household routines and student schedules, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off to a Placed Houseparent role with the same student group. The position is Full-time and requires a married couple to relocate to Hershey, PA with relocation assistance; salary is $44,768 per person with comprehensive benefits. For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-spouse role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role modeling for students
- Commitment to smoking-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services
