Job Summary
Two-person married couple will live on campus as Full-time Flex Houseparents for Milton Hershey School. The role involves supervising and mentoring a group of approximately 8–13 students, providing care, guidance, supervision, and support; administering medications; driving students to activities; planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities; leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel; overseeing budgeting and household reporting; and transitioning from a nine-days-on/three-days-off schedule to a Placed Houseparent in the same student home. On-campus housing is included as part of compensation, with comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance. The role requires experience with youth, a valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke-free, weapon-free campus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-spouse, legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
Additional Requirements
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- No alcohol on duty; campus smoke-free and weapon-free policy
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
