Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparent roles for married couples at Milton Hershey School. Live on-campus in a student home and provide care, guidance, supervision, budgeting, and activities for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, coordinating routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, conducting daily devotions, and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel. Initially work nine days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent. Requires relocation to Hershey, PA and a commitment to a faith-based, drug/alcohol-free campus with strict safety rules. Both spouses must complete individual applications and meet strict qualification criteria (age, marriage duration, on-campus residency, driving capabilities, and ability to lift 50 lbs).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse two-year marriage requirement
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Ability to reside on-campus in student home as part of a two-person team
- Complete individual employment applications for both spouses
