Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person, married couple) live on-campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, supervising and mentoring a group of 8–13 students, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and handling budgeting and reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent role in the same student home. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for married couples
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
Additional Requirements
- Couples must be legally married for at least two years
- Occupational environment requires living on campus
- No alcohol permitted while on duty
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
