Job Summary
Houseparents for Milton Hershey School (MHS) are full-time Flex Houseparents who reside in on-campus student homes and care for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The nine-on, three-off duty cycle initially supports multiple homes, with eventual placement in a single student home. Benefits include a salary of $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple with housing meals and utilities), comprehensive insurance options, retirement savings, relocation assistance, paid training, and PTO.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and accompanying students to chapel services
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA and reside on-campus
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
