Job Summary
Houseparents (two married partners) live on-campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, serving as Full-time Flex Houseparents for a group of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students daily, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Initially, the role involves a nine-on/three-off cycle across different student homes, with eventual placement into a single student home. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
