Job Summary
Two-person married-couple role for Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes in Randolph, VT (on-site housing provided). Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring 8–13 students, administering medications, driving to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary of $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple with benefits), relocation assistance, comprehensive medical/dental/vision insurance, HSAs/FSAs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Two-spouse, legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- No more than three dependent children in the student home
- Experience with youth (working or volunteering)
- Driver’s license and ability to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in devotions and Sunday Chapel
- High school diploma or GED required
