Job Summary
Houseparents for Milton Hershey School to reside on-campus and supervise a group of 8–13 students in a home setting. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel attendance, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Initially, nine days on duty followed by three days off, with a path to placed houseparent where the couple continues to live with the same student group. Includes relocation to Hershey, PA, with salary per person around $44,768 plus comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for married couples
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role-model responsibilities for students
- For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications
