Job Summary
Houseparents for Milton Hershey School: Full-time Flex Houseparents on a two-person couple basis living in on-campus student homes and supervising 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; role transitions to a placed Houseparent living with the same students. Includes relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits, with salary of $46,917 per person (~$180,000 per couple) plus housing and meals on duty.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
