Job Summary
Houseparents provide care, supervision, and guidance to a cohort of 8–13 students in on-campus homes. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role is a full-time, two-person position for legally married couples (both spouses age 27+), initially supporting multiple student homes with a nine-on/three-off schedule, transitioning to a fixed student-home placement, with relocation to Hershey, PA. Compensation per person is $46,917 annually, plus comprehensive benefits including relocation assistance, housing, and meals on duty.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-spouse, two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
Additional Requirements
- Couples must complete individual employment applications
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Proselytizing prohibited during devotional activities
