Job Summary
Flex Houseparents (two-person married couple) serve on-campus in a student home at Milton Hershey School, providing care, supervision, mentorship, and structured daily routines for a group of ~8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising daily activities, managing household routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, and budgeting/reporting. The role begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement as a permanent Houseparent in a single student home. Both spouses must complete individual applications and be legally married for at least two years, aged 27 or older, and meet requirements around dependents, driving, and on-campus living. This is a full-time, on-campus role with living accommodations provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse two-year married requirement
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and accompanying to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel
- No alcohol on duty
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- Pet restrictions (fish and one dog)
- Commitment to living on campus in a student home
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA
- Background check/clearance as part of employment process
