Job Summary
Houseparents - Full-time Flex Houseparents for Milton Hershey School. Married couples reside in on-campus student homes (8–13 students) and provide care, supervision, mentorship, and support. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Start involves nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits provided; salary per person is $46,917 plus housing and meals. Both spouses must apply individually for consideration.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for married couples
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
