Job Summary
Houseparents (married couples) needed at Milton Hershey School to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents on campus in Hershey, PA. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, supervise and mentor around 8–13 students, manage household routines, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and participate in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions, and oversee budgeting and reporting. The role begins with a nine-on, three-off schedule and transitions to a placed houseparent living with the same student group. Requires a two-person, married-couple commitment, age 27+, high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, willingness to obtain driving certification for student vans, ability to lift 50 lbs, and comfort with Judeo-Christian chapel services. Includes relocation assistance, paid training, comprehensive benefits, and paid time off. Total compensation per couple is around $180,000 when housing and benefits are included; base salary per person is $46,917.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-year married partnership minimum (for consideration)
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to drive student home vans (certification)
- Comfort leading devotions and Judeo-Christian Chapel attendance
- Experience with youth either paid or volunteer
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No alcohol on duty
