Job Summary
Houseparents for Milton Hershey School: full-time flex houseparents residing on-campus in Hershey, PA to care for 8–13 students, providing supervision, guidance, daily routines, medication administration, transportation to activities, devotions and chapel, budgeting oversight, and ongoing student development. Role starts as nine days on duty followed by three days off, with potential transition to a Placed Houseparent in the same student home. Requires a married couple, both 27+, with a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and willingness to relocate. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
