Job Summary
Houseparents for Milton Hershey School: Full-time Flex Houseparents live on campus in student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and development activities for a group of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, administering medications, driving students to activities, leading devotions and Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and coordinating routines. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement as a single houseparent for a student home. Relocation to Hershey, PA is provided with comprehensive benefits and on-campus housing.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Two-person role for couples
- Couples must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Commitment to smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Willingness to lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
