Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School are a two-person married couple who reside on campus to supervise and mentor 8–13 students in a student home. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentorship, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and initially supporting multiple homes with a nine-on, three-off schedule before transitioning to a stable placed houseparent role living with the same group of students. The role includes relocation to Hershey, PA with relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits; requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus. Both spouses must apply individually; the compensation is $46,917 per person (approximately $180,000 per couple total) with housing, meals, and utilities provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications
