Job Summary
Houseparents (married couples) are Full-time Flex Houseparents residing in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School, providing care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in development and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and managing household budgeting and reporting. The role starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with potential transition to a Placed Houseparent living with the same students. Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models for students
