Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents for Milton Hershey School: couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The schedule initially follows nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with potential transition into a placed houseparent role living and working with the same students. Benefits include salary per person, comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse requirement: both spouses legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services
- Proficiency in managing household routines and student schedules
- Proven integrity and professionalism in a student-facing environment
