Job Summary
Houseparents partners live on campus to care for a group of 8–13 students in an on-campus home, providing daily supervision, mentorship, supervision of routines, medication administration, transportation to activities, and active engagement in developmental and recreational activities. They lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and household reporting, and transition from nine days on / three days off to a placed houseparent role living with the same group of students. The position includes relocation to Whitesboro, TX, with a salary of $46,917 per person (approximately $180,000 total per couple with housing and benefits), comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, and paid training. Applicants must be a legally married two-person couple, both 27 or older, with experience with youth, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The role requires driving responsibilities and a commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus and Judeo-Christian chapel activities.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
