Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents reside on campus at Milton Hershey School to supervise and mentor a group of about 8–13 students in a home setting. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in development and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. The role operates on a nine-days-on, three-days-off cycle initially, then transitions to a placed houseparent living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768) with comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, paid training, and PTO.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in devotions and chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No alcohol on duty
- Pet restrictions: fish and one dog of approved breeds
- Prior experience with youth preferred
- able to become certified to drive student home vans
