Job Summary
Houseparents at Milton Hershey School reside in on-campus student homes to provide daily supervision, mentorship, and care for groups of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from nine-on/three-off shifts to a placed-houseparent role with the same students. The role is full-time and relocation to Hershey, PA is involved; the position requires a two-spouse team, each completing an individual application, and compensation includes housing, meals on duty, and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No alcohol permitted while on duty
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth

- Two-person married-couple requirement
- Must be legally married for at least two years
