Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparents live on campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, supervising and guiding a group of approximately 8–13 students in on-campus homes. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications and ensuring student wellness, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule and transitions into a placed Houseparent position living with the same group of students. Relocation assistance is provided, with comprehensive benefits including health, vision, dental, retirement, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Sunday Chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role models for students
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA and reside on-campus
- Ability to follow a schedule of nine consecutive days on duty, followed by three days off
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
