Job Summary
Two-person married couple will serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School, residing in on-campus student homes to supervise 8–13 students, provide care, guidance, supervision, and support; administer medications; drive students to activities; plan and engage in developmental and recreational activities; lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel; oversee budgeting and household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition into a Placed Houseparent role living and working with the same group of students in their own home. Benefits include salary of $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple) plus comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
