Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School provide care, supervision, and mentorship for a group of 8–13 students in on-campus homes. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. The role starts with a nine-on, three-off schedule and transitions to a placed houseparent assignment living and working with the same student group. The package includes relocation assistance, paid training, comprehensive benefits, and housing and meals on duty.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-spouse role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
