Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparents live on campus at Milton Hershey School and care for a group of 8–13 students in a home setting. They provide daily supervision, mentorship, and guidance, manage household routines and student schedules, administer medications as needed, transport students to activities, plan and participate in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and household reporting, and follow a working schedule of nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent in the same student home. The role includes relocation to Hershey, PA, comprehensive benefits, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Relocation to on-campus housing at Hershey, PA
Additional Requirements
- Must be married and both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- No alcohol on duty; campus is smoke-free; pets limited to fish and one dog of approved breeds
