Job Summary
Houseparents for Milton Hershey School: full-time Flex Houseparents for on-campus homes housing 8–13 students, providing daily supervision, mentorship, medication administration, transportation to activities, and developmentally focused activities; responsibilities include managing household routines, budgeting and reporting, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and supervising student wellness. Initial schedule is nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement in a dedicated student home. Requires two spouses who are legally married for at least two years, both aged 27+, with a valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs., experience with youth, and a commitment to a substance- and weapon-free campus; relocation offered and housing/benefits provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
