Job Summary
Houseparents - two-person, full-time Flex role at Milton Hershey School. Married couples reside in on-campus student homes to supervise and mentor 8–13 students, manage household routines, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and participate in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions, and oversee budgeting and reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement into a consistent home for the same group of students. Includes relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and paid training. Requires a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of two years married, age 27+, US driver’s license, and experience with youth; must pass driver certification and uphold campus standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role-model responsibilities
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs
