Job Summary
Married couples serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents on-campus at Milton Hershey School, living with a group of approximately 8–13 students in a student home. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Work pattern begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition into aPlaced Houseparent role living and working with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person of $44,768 (approx. $168,000 total per couple), comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, paid time off, and training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two spouses must be legally married for at least two years
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Two-person role for couples
- On-campus housing provided
