Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparents live on-campus in a student home at Milton Hershey School, providing care, supervision, mentorship, and support for a group of about 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from nine-on/three-off shifts to a placed houseparent role with the same student group. Requires a high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke-free, weapon-free campus with specific housing and relocation benefits. Both spouses must complete individual applications; the role is a two-person, fully staffed position with relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-spouse two-person role
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Chapel services
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Willingness to reside in on-campus student homes
- Ability to drive student vans
