Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents for Milton Hershey School to reside on-campus in Hershey, PA, as a two-person married couple team, providing care, guidance, supervision, and mentorship for a group of approximately 8–13 students in on-campus homes. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and following a nine-days-on/three-days-off schedule with eventual transition to a placed houseparent role.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Experience with youth or volunteering with youth
- Residence on-campus in Hershey, PA
- Full-time schedule with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Houseparenting skills including supervision, budgeting, and reporting
- Planned transition from Flex Houseparent to Placed Houseparent
