Job Summary
Houseparents needed for Milton Hershey School to live in on-campus student homes and provide daily supervision, mentorship, and care for 8–13 students. Role starts as Full-time Flex Houseparents with a schedule of nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, transitioning to a placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Responsibilities include supervising routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions, Chapel attendance, budgeting and reporting, and ensuring student wellness. Requires two-year-married couple as a two-person role, both spouses aged 27+, high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; travel and on-campus residence are part of duties.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Chapel services
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
